Topic: Regional Scorecard for how Greenville is managing existing and potential businesses presented by Hank Hyatt, Vice President of the Greenville SC Chamber of Commerce. Our speaker is Hank Hyatt; Vice President of the Greenville SC Chamber of Commerce. In his current role at the Greenville Chamber, Hank is focused on three primary areas: existing industry, research and talent attraction. Hank oversees the Chamber's Manufacturers Roundtable and other efforts to engage and serve existing industry. He was a founding member of Greenville Works, a collaborative of a dozen education, workforce and economic development entities partnering to ensure a viable talent pipeline for manufacturers and major employers in Greenville County. He is a member of the Greenville County Workforce Investment Board and a member of the Financial Stability Council of the United Way of Greenville County. Currently, Hank oversees the Regional Economic Scorecard, an initiative to focus community attention on drivers of per capita income specific to the Greenville region. He is also involved with the research and evaluation team for Graduate Greenville as well as with Greenville Forward in a number of initiatives (Community Indicators, SC Graduate Retention Study, etc.). Other significant local research projects have included the Community Vitality Indicators initiative as well as United Way's Community Assessment Planning Study and Needs Assessment Planning Study. Finally, Hank is responsible for the Chamber's talent attraction efforts. From providing personalized assistance with VIP recruiting trips to coordinating large, multi-day events for scores of recruits, the Chamber has been instrumental in assisting companies attract the talent critical to their success. The Greenville Chamber, a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, has more than 2000 members who represent and serve the small and large businesses of Greenville, Greenville County and Upstate South Carolina. The Greenville Chamber is independent of local or state government. The Greenville Chamber's has four missions:
The Chamber's initiatives include: Leadership Development, Small Business Services, and Entrepreneurial Support through NEXT, Public Policy Advocacy and Existing Industry Services. Cancellations: Any member or non-member who fails to attend after having made a reservation, and has not cancelled by 4:00pm on the Sunday prior to the meeting, will not be credited the cost of the meeting.
